Excuse Us, We’ll Just Be Drooling Over This 1995 Porsche 911 CUP 3.8 RSR EVO

Any Porsche 911 built with the word ‘Cup’ in its name is special and this particular 1995 911 Cup 3.8 RSR EVO is no exception.

Up for auction through Collecting Cars, this 911 was first owned by former regional president of the Porsche Club of America, John Ruther, and was the first 1995 3.8-liter model to be delivered to and remain in the U.S. market.

Ruther initially raced the car at Porsche Club Amateur events before hearing about the proposed developments of the Evolution version for 1997. He quickly had the car upgraded by Porsche Motorsports North America who equipped it with a new M64/70 RSR Sprint engine with Carillo conrods and uprated camshafts, twin-plug ignition, and various titanium components, allowing it to pump out around 390 hp. It was later equipped with a Teilert Engineering slide valve induction system and a programmable Porsche EFI unit, which increased power to 410 hp.

Elsewhere, this unique 911 Cup 3.8 RSR EVO has enlarged brake calipers, discs from a 911 Turbo, carbon fiber brake cooling ducts, double adjustable dampers, power steering, and twin oil coolers. It also sports an upgraded G50 six-speed manual transmission with a racing clutch, lightweight flywheel, and limited-slip differential.

The Collecting Cars listing notes that the car has never been crashed and still features its original Grand Prix White paintwork. No mileage details have been mentioned but the cabin is in good condition, although there are some small tears in the fabric of the driver’s seat.

This Lamborghini Cententario Roadster Has A $5.5 Million Asking Price

A rare Lamborghini Centenario Roadster has been listed up for sale in Germany with an eye-watering price tag.

Lamborghini built just 20 examples of the Centenario Roadster, alongside 20 examples of the Centenario Coupe. This particular example sports an exterior clad in a combination of red and black paint accented by various exposed gloss carbon fiber parts.

The bold red and black theme continues into the cabin and is featured across the Alcantara-clad seats, floor mats, side sills, dashboard, door panels, and steering wheel. While the Centenario is based on the Aventador, it has a character of its own and is arguably even more aggressive than Lamborghini’s current flagship supercar.

Then there is the price. When launched, the Centenario Roadster could be purchased from $2.23 million. However, this particular example on Mobile.de has an asking price of €4,760,000 (~$5,500,000) including VAT in Europe, roughly double what it would have cost new. Sure, the car has only been driven 68 km (42 miles) since it was delivered but that price seems a little ridiculous, especially since an all-carbon Centenario Roadster was listed for sale in Canada last year for CA$3.7 million, which was the equivalent of US$2.75 million at the time.

Regardless of how much this particular Centenario Roadster ends up selling for, the owner will be driving around in a car that turns heads unlike any other. It is also fitted with a naturally-aspirated 6.5-liter V12 with 759 hp and 507 lb-ft (690 Nm) of torque that not only helps the limited-run Lambo go like stink, but sounds great doing so, too.

This Pristine Lexus LFA Has Only Ever Been Driven 177 Miles

A well-maintained 2012 Lexus LFA has hit the used car market and will almost certainly well for well over its original MSRP.

It has been a decade since the LFA launched with a $375,000 price tag and this particular example has been driven just 177 miles (284 km). It is number 376 of just 500 units built and is painted in the Lexus shade of ‘Whitest White’. The Collecting Cars listing notes that there is no bodywork or paint damage. Completing the striking exterior look are the original silver wheels and red brake calipers.

Found within the car is gorgeous red leather across the seats while the transmission tunnel, dashboard, and door panels are clad in black leather with red contrast stitching. The original plastic protective wrapping remains over the seats, sun visors, and center console buttons, indicating that the original owner never intended on driving the car frequently.

Elsewhere, the rare Lexus has a headliner trimmed in Alcantara and includes an infotainment system with satellite navigation, a reversing camera, heated seats, and heated wing mirrors.

While the LFA has rarely been driven since it was first delivered, Collecting Cars notes that it has been routinely serviced and in August 2020 with just 160 miles (257 km) on the clock, the engine oil and filter were changed.

Powering the Lexus LFA is a screaming 4.8-liter naturally-aspirated V10 engine that churns out 560 hp and 354 lb-ft (480 Nm) of torque. This engine alone is arguably worth hundreds of thousands of dollars and with four days left in the auction, bidding had already hit $350,000 for the car.

Classics Cars Owned By Frank Sinatra And Siegfried & Roy Coming To Barrett-Jackson Auction

A number of classic cars owned by some of Las Vegas’ most iconic entertainers are being auctioned off this month by Barrett-Jackson.

Kicking off things are a couple of cars from the Siegfried & Roy estate. The first of these is a 2011 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Gullwing that was only purchased by Siegfried during a Barrett-Jackson auction in June 2019. It originally left the factory painted in Iridium Silver but has since been adorned with a chrome wrap to really make it stand out. It also has red leather upholstery.

Another car from the Siegfried & Roy estate being sold is a 1994 Rolls-Royce Corniche that was a gift to Roy for his 50th birthday. It is one of just 219 produced from 1993 to 1996.

Elsewhere, a 1970 Maserati Ghibli formerly owned by Frank Sinatra is being sold. While not the most desirable of classic Maserati models, Sinatra’s car has undergone a complete nut-and-bolt refurbishment and has 21,000 miles on the clock. The car was purchased new by Sinatra’s son-in-law and in 1973, Sinatra himself purchased the car from him. After Sinatra’s ownership, the car was sold to actor George Hamilton and was later sold to Dave Thomas, the founder of Wendy’s.

“To own a vehicle that belonged to any one of these fabulous Las Vegas icons is priceless,” Barrett-Jackson president Steve Davis said in a statement. “These celebrity-owned vehicles are more than just collectibles. They’re a reflection of the icons who made them a part of their personal lives and represent a rare opportunity to own a piece of their lifestyle.”

This 6800-Mile DeLorean Will Transport You Straight Back To 1985

If someone tasked you with finding them a pristine DMC 12 that had covered less than 7,000 miles in the hands of no more than two owners, you’d probably tell them to get busy finishing that time machine so you could go get one.

That’s because the last DeLoreans rolled off the Dunmurry line in Northern Ireland in 1982, meaning by the time the iconic time-travelling movie Back to the Future premiered in 1985, most of the 9200 cars built would have already passed 7000 miles – and, in the time since, passed through a few pairs of hands.

But not the car pictured here, which is being offered for sale at the Bonhams Amelia Island Auction later this month. Understood to have originally been bought by a couple who lived in Manhattan, the DMC 12 was kept in the suburbs of the city at the owner’s parents’ home during the week, only coming out to play at weekends and during holidays.

As a result, the DeLorean racked up very few miles, and by the 1990s the owners realized they had something pretty special on their hands. In fact, this DMC12 is more special than most because it’s the less common five-speed manual version. Most DeLoreans paired their PRV (Peugeot-Renault-Volvo) 2.85-liter V6 with a three-speed auto.

Related: Italdesign Teases What Looks Like A Modern-Day DeLorean DMC-12

Those two extra ratios don’t turn the DeLorean into a supercar. Because the DMC 12 effectively had two sets of body panels – a fibreglass inner body plus a stainless steel outer skin – it was heavy, and the emissions-spec Federalized engine made just 130 hp. Zero to 62mph took almost 10 seconds, which was nothing special even in the early 1980s, and makes the obligatory “Outatime” BTTF license plates seem even more pertinent.

But Bonhams suggests only 6500 of the 9200 cars produced are still on the road, and it’s unlikely you’ll find another one in this condition and spec outside of a museum. It’s not a box-fresh restored car, but a nicely preserved, slightly grubby original that shows a welcome patina from gentle use – just like the one you might have picked up at used car lot back in 1985.

World Record Prices Expected At Mitsubishi Heritage Fleet Auction

Mitsubishi UK announced last month that they were to auction off their extensive collection of classic cars from the treasured heritage collection. And while the news came as a bit of a shock, it wasn’t entirely unexpected, as Mitsubishi prepares to exit the UK market at the end of the year. Now the auction is down to its last week, and many of the listings are already on track to break world records.

Perhaps predictably, the car that seems to be generating the most interest is the Lancer Evolution VI Tommi Makinen Edition. Bids currently stand at a dizzying £78,000 ($108,000) and will likely set a world record come the drop of the hammer. The example on offer to buyers is car #6 of 250. It has been owned by Mitsubishi since new and has had an engine, and turbo replacement carried out under warranty.

Oh, Evo, how we miss you

Three more Evos are being offered alongside the VI TME. There’s The two-time British Rally Championship Winning 2007 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX Group N Works Rally Car currently sitting at a bid of £36,000 ($50,000). And at a bid of £59,000 ($82,000), there’s the 1 of 200, Evolution IX MR FQ-360 HKS. The FQ-360 was the final edition of the 7/8/9 generation Lancer Evolution platform, with this specimen having less than 5000 miles on the odometer.

Several other cars are doing well too, including a Mk1 Shogun, at £14,000 ($19,000), which reportedly needed only light recommissioning to get back to near original condition. Fans of odd-ball collabs will appreciate the Mitsubishi Jeep J27 priced at £12,800 ($17,800). The J27 was built by Mitsubishi under license from the Willys Company in the US to sell to the Japanese market. It was a model that saw over 200,000 being made, but only eight were imported to the UK by the Colt Car Company. Its existence helped establish Mitsubishi’s reputation for off-road vehicles in its home market of Japan.

Also offered in the collection is a Mitsubishi Starion at £16,600 ($23,000) and a Mitsubishi 3000GT, which has attracted a top bid so far of £22,700 ($31,500). One of our favorites in the collection is the first-ever UK-registered Mitsubishi — a first-gen Lancer. Although we know it as a Mitsubishi, it’s officially a Colt Lancer, Colt being the name used in many export markets. This two-door Lancer was the original car shown at the British Motor Show and became a press demonstrator. It was repurchased by Colt Cars in the 80s before undergoing a complete nut-and-bolt restoration at the company’s own Special Vehicle Operations.

1992 Mitsubishi 3000GT

Supporting the diverse nature of the auction is a rally replica Mitsubishi Galant 2.0 GLSi that was used to promote Mistubishi’s involvement in the 1989 Lombard RAC Rally. Later on in its life, it became a course and safety car for rallies, undergoing “road sweeper” duties and providing service around the track.

Also on sale, with a bid of £16,000 ($22,000), is the Mitsubishi L200 that was modified by TopGear Magazine’s Tom Ford to traverse the expanse of Namibia for a 10-page spread. Although under the skin, the L200 remained largely true to its already capable off-road self. Externally, however, the rig, dubbed “Project Swarm,” features a Motoped motorized mountain bike, 35-inch wheels and tires, a heavy-duty winch, bespoke bumper, uprated suspension, an exo-cage, racing seats, and harnesses, as well as multiple LED lights.

In addition to the 16 cars up for sale, Mitsubishi Motors UK is also auctioning off several of their cherished number plates, many of which include the CCC (Colt Car Company) or MMC (Mitsubishi Motor Company) acronym.

For Around $20,000, This Hot Pink Ford Explorer Interceptor Wants To Protect And Serve You

A hot pink Ford Explorer fit for a Paris Hilton wannabee will be offered up for sale from Mecum Auctions later this week.

To say this Explorer is ‘unique’ would be an understatement. Most notable is the hot pink finish that has been painted on, meaning that this isn’t an aftermarket wrap that the new owner could easily remove. We have no idea what could motivate someone to take a perfectly fine Explorer and paint it in this way but if the owner wanted to attract attention, they’ve certainly achieved that.

Watch Also: Ford Explorer Driver Totals Toyota Prius While Making A U-Turn

The paint isn’t the only unique thing about this Explorer. As you’ll notice, the front end is rocking a large push bar just like an official Explorer police vehicle. The SUV also rocks a spotlight on the A-pillar and even has a Police Interceptor badge on the tailgate. If this is indeed a former police vehicle, we can only imagine what the officers that once drove the Explorer would think of it in its current state. The aftermarket 20-inch wheels only add insult to injury.

Just when you thought things couldn’t get any worse, they do, as the interior has also been overhauled. In fact, hot pink leather has been applied across the seats and door panels while pink carpets make the cabin all the more eye-catching. The seats also include areas of white leather and hot pink piping.

Mecum Auctions expects this ‘special’ Ford Explorer to sell for between $15,000 and $20,000.

Want This 2005 Mercedes-Benz CLK DTM AMG? Well, You’ll First Have To Get The OK From NHTSA

Interested in acquiring this Mercedes-Benz CLK DTM AMG? Good – but you’ll first have to get the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s blessing.

The reason is that the rare car was imported to the United States from Germany and federalized by Wallace Environmental Testing Laboratories of Houston for ‘show or display’. Therefore, any transfer of ownership must first be approved by the NHTSA. Moreover, the annual mileage will have to be kept at under 2,500 miles (4,023 km) and the new owner will also have to make it available for inspection by the safety agency until it turns 25 years old.

Read More: More Than 50 Years Of Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupes And Cabriolets; Which One’s Your Favorite?

A German Touring Car Championship homologation special, the CLK DTM AMG was built in 180 examples, 100 coupes and 80 cabriolets. This one came to life in 2005 and has less than 1,600 miles (2,575 km) on the odometer, with 100 of them covered over the past six years. It sports a silver paint finish and black leather & Alcantara interior, and has a plaque that denotes its arrival in the Lone Star State in 2009. It is estimated that only five such rides are currently in North America.

Powering it is a 574 HP 5.4-liter supercharged V8 that’s hooked up to a 5G-Tronic automatic transmission. Top speed stands at over 200 mph (320 km/h) and it will hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in just four seconds.

Accompanied by the original manuals, first aid kit, tool kit and battery tender, this CLK DTM AMG will go on sale at the RMSothebys Amelia Island auction on May 22.

Wrecked 2020 Porsche Taycan Turbo Hits Auction Block, Is It Worth Saving?

Customer deliveries of the 2020 Porsche Taycan Turbo only kicked off in December and already, an extensively damaged example has appeared for sale through Copart.

Like with most other cars listed for sale through Copart, no details are provided about how this Taycan Turbo ended up looking the way it does. However, it’s evident that it was involved in quite a serious incident.

Watch Also: Chris Harris Left Impressed By The Porsche Taycan Turbo S

Most notably, the front and rear wheels on the driver’s side are bent out of position and, inevitably, some extensive damage has also been done to the air suspension. Similarly, the front passenger side wheel has also been damaged. Interestingly, bodywork damage seems relatively minor by comparison, with some scratches visible on the front bumper and some damage to the splitter.

The listing reveals that the EV is being sold by State Farm Insurance, which evidently decided it was not worth repairing. Most of the damage is also said to have been sustained to the undercarriage, and with the battery pack being located in the floor, that could mean some significant (and very, very costly) repairs would be needed to restore this Taycan back to its former glory. It’s said that the electric Porsche had an estimated retail value of $167,865.

In all likelihood, the person who ends up buying the car will likely do so for one of two reasons. The first reason could be to try and repair the car and return it to the road, while the second would be to strip it down and sell the parts, including the two electric motors which we’re sure could fetch a pretty penny.
